About

Built for the builder who does the paperwork too.

Slab to Keys is for custom home builders who run a handful of houses at a time and keep the office themselves, or with one person. It is small on purpose. The software that came before it grew until builders needed a course to use it.

Who it is for

A good fit, and a poor one.

It is for you if

  • You build custom homes, a handful at a time
  • You already keep spec sheets, takeoffs and job folders, and lose track of what is waiting across them
  • Your clients make a lot of decisions, and late picks cost you weeks
  • You don't want to learn software, and won't make your clients learn it
  • You want to see where a number came from before you trust it

It is not for you if

  • You want it to be your accounting system. It keeps the job's money, not your books.
  • You plan with Gantt charts and resource levelling
  • You want an app from the app store. It runs in the browser, and on a phone by link.
  • You are choosing on price alone. There are cheaper tools, with support departments.

How it is built

The rules under every screen.

These are written down and tested. A change that breaks one does not ship.

  • The assistant proposes. A person approves.

The AI drafts lines, reminders and answers. Nothing it makes is sent to a client directly. Every figure it uses is checked against your records, and dollars are worked out in code, never in the AI.

  • A link is the only way in for clients and subs.

Each link opens one house and one part of it: a client sees their decisions, a sub sees their trade. No accounts, no passwords, now or later.

  • Every builder has their own server.

Your houses live in your own database, not in a shared one. It is backed up every night to a second place, and it is yours to take as one file.

  • Nothing deletes a client's answer.

Once a client has picked or signed, that line stays. The screen tells you why and what you can do instead.

  • Every number has a receipt.

Prices read from a quote keep the document and page they came from. If it can't find a source, it says so instead of guessing.

  • Plain words, everywhere.

"Everything waiting on you, across every house," not "Dashboard overview." When something can't be done, the message names the fix.
